My Approach
​
Starting with an initial discussion about your life in this moment and what brought you into therapy we look at what are the things that support you or hinder you in making good choices for yourself. The basis of my work is a tops down education for the mind about how the body works, and specifically the autonomic nervous system, and the importance of developing a capacity to self regulate, followed by a bottom up experience of how the body communicates it's reality by developing awareness of the subtle responses in the moment to a changing environment. This dance of mind and body becomes a felt knowledge of what feels safe in the moment and supports the adaptations
that everyday life requires.

After a short talk with prospective clients I suggest one of the following approaches ;-
- Purchase some of the videos in the store to get a sense of me and my work, this can save a lot of time and money and
yo u will learn a lot about self regulation and the other areas that I cover.
- A session in person with me to see how I work and decide if I am someone you could trust and feel safe with.
- An agreed number of sessions, 3 or 4, to learn the basic tools of self regulation during which we get to know each other and identify issues that are important for you to explore and if you want to continue.
- Join the next on-line group where I explore these key concepts and have the opportunity to be part of a learning group
The aim is to offer choice and for you to feel safe as you explore important issues in your life.
